Major League Baseball (MLB) has announced that the highly anticipated Home Run Derby X, a thrilling new baseball format focused on power hitting and defensive hustle, will be held at Parkview Field on Saturday, August 10th at 7pm. The event will take place while the Fort Wayne TinCaps, the Minor League Baseball's High-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres, are away.

MLB legends Jake Arrieta and Nick Swisher will be joined by stars from softball and women's baseball, including Jocelyn Alo and Alex Hugo, to form the four teams competing in this co-ed competition. The remaining roster of players will be announced at a later date.

Tickets for this action-packed event go on sale on Friday, May 24th at 10:00am EST. They can be purchased online at TinCaps.com/HRDX, as well as at the Parkview Field Ticket Office or by calling 260-482-6400. Prices for seats start at just $12, making it an affordable and family-friendly event.

During Home Run Derby X, each team of three will consist of one MLB Legend, one College Softball Star, and one Local Hitter. The games will last approximately 30 minutes, with each player receiving one at-bat of two minutes and thirty seconds. The opposing team will be positioned as outfielders, aiming to make catches and score defensive points. Offensive points will be awarded for home runs. Additionally, bonus points can be earned by hitting home runs through a centerfield target. Batters can call for a hot streak of 5 swings, where every hit counts double, and in the final minute of an at-bat, they can tag in a teammate to finish with a flourish.

Fort Wayne will be the first stop on the Home Run Derby X schedule for 2024, with subsequent events taking place in Albuquerque on August 23rd, Nashville on August 31st, and Durham on September 7th.
