**Chargers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh Briefly Exits Week 6 Game Due to Illness**
In a surprising turn of events, Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh had to leave Sunday’s Week 6 game against the Denver Broncos early in the first quarter because of an illness. Harbaugh was seen being escorted to the locker room by the Chargers medical staff during the team’s first offensive series.
Harbaugh, who is in his first season with the Chargers following a nine-year tenure with the Michigan Wolverines, made his way back to the sidelines with just over 7 minutes left in the first quarter. CBS later reported that Harbaugh’s temporary absence was due to an arrhythmia.
During Harbaugh's brief time away, defensive coordinator Jesse Minter stepped in as the interim head coach. Despite the absence of their head coach, the Chargers managed to end their first drive with a 20-yard field goal by kicker Cameron Dicker, securing an early 3-0 lead.
Meanwhile, Denver Broncos star cornerback Patrick Surtain II saw his game cut short due to a concussion sustained during Denver’s first defensive series. Surtain, who had entered Week 6 leading his team with two interceptions and four passes defensed, was ruled out for the remainder of the game.
The Chargers, sitting at a 2-2 record and coming off a Week 5 bye, will be looking to build their momentum as they navigate the rest of the season under Harbaugh’s leadership. Sunday's health scare serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of sports and the importance of health.
