**Massive Ground Beef Recall Due to E. coli Contamination**

Federal officials have announced a recall of over 165,000 pounds of ground beef due to potential E. coli contamination. The ground beef, distributed by Detroit-based Wolverine Packing, has been linked to illnesses in multiple states.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) revealed that both fresh and frozen products are affected. The fresh products carry a "use by" date of November 14, while the frozen items have a production date of October 22. All recalled products bear the establishment number "EST 2574B" within the USDA mark of inspection.

The contaminated beef was distributed across the country to various restaurants and sold under several brand names, including Wolverine Packing Co., 1855 Beef, Davis Creek Meals, Farmer's Choice, Heritage Restaurant Brands, and Cheney Brothers, Inc.

The recall was initiated after the USDA's Food Safety Inspection Service received reports from the Minnesota Departments of Agriculture and Health about illnesses linked to Wolverine Packing Co.'s beef. Testing confirmed the presence of E. coli in samples from the company, and 15 cases have been reported starting from November 2.
