In a positive development for the Georgia Bulldogs, star running back Branson Robinson is making significant progress in his recovery from a ruptured patella tendon. Despite missing the entire previous season, the redshirt sophomore is showing promising signs ahead of the upcoming fall season.

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart provided an update on Robinson's status during the SEC Media Days on Tuesday, expressing his satisfaction with the running back's current condition. While he stopped short of declaring Robinson fully cleared, Smart commended his performance during training sessions, stating, "He looks really good. His weight is down, which I think will ease the pressure on his injury and knees. He looks impressive out there running."

Robinson's potential return to the field comes as a major boost for the Bulldogs, especially with uncertainty surrounding the availability of fellow running back Trevor Etienne for the season opener against Clemson. If Robinson regains full fitness, he is expected to share rushing duties with sophomore Roderick Robinson. Additionally, freshmen Nate Frazier, Chauncey Bowens, and Dwight Phillips, Jr. could also contribute to the running back rotation.

During his true freshman season, the 5'10" and 220-pound Branson Robinson showcased his talent by rushing for 330 yards and three touchdowns on 68 carries. Notably, two of those touchdowns came in Georgia's national championship win over TCU.

While it remains uncertain whether Robinson will be completely ready for the start of the upcoming training camp, Coach Smart expressed optimism, stating, "I don't know if he'll be 100 percent at the start of camp, but I feel like he'll be close."

As Georgia aims to maintain its dominance in the SEC and compete for national championship contention, the anticipated return of Branson Robinson provides a much-needed boost to their running game. Fans eagerly await his comeback and the potential impact he can make when the Bulldogs face off against Clemson in their highly-anticipated season opener.
