Former talk show host Wendy Williams, 59, is reportedly undergoing treatment for cognitive issues in an undisclosed facility, according to a report by People. Williams is said to have minimal contact with her family, with her sister and niece only hearing from her when she reaches out to them. The upcoming four-part Lifetime docuseries titled "Where Is Wendy Williams?" shines a light on Williams' struggles with alcohol addiction, mental health, memory, and communication challenges.
Williams' sister, Wanda Finnie, shared that Williams is in a wellness and healing environment but is not easily reachable by her family. Despite the difficulties, her family members express pride in Williams for taking control of her narrative through the docuseries, with her niece, Alex Finnie, serving as an executive producer on the project.
The former host of the "Wendy Williams Show," which aired from 2009 to 2022, publicly disclosed health issues, including a battle with lymphedema causing extreme foot swelling and Graves disease, an immune disorder affecting the thyroid hormones. Williams has been navigating personal challenges since her 2019 divorce from Kevin Hunter, following revelations of his affair.
The docuseries aims to showcase a different side of Williams, as her family notes a positive change in her emotional and mental well-being during their interactions. Despite leaving her talk show amid health concerns and erratic behavior, Williams remains a prominent figure in the public eye as she focuses on her recovery and healing journey.
