### Former NFL Star Jay Cutler Arrested for DUI and Handgun Possession in Franklin, Tenn.

Jay Cutler, a former NFL quarterback, was taken into custody in Franklin, Tennessee for charges related to driving under the influence and illegal possession of a handgun. Reports indicate that the incident occurred on Thursday. The ex-football player was released after securing a $5,000 bond.

Authorities detailed that Cutler, 41, faced multiple charges, some of which include failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision and violating implied consent. Under Tennessee state law, these charges are classified as either misdemeanors or civil offenses.

The police were called to the scene due to an accident in which Cutler allegedly rear-ended another vehicle. Upon arriving, officers noted that Cutler exhibited signs of intoxication, including smelling of alcohol, having bloodshot eyes, and slurring his words.
