Former Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Chandler Jones has managed to escape jail time after being arrested twice last fall due to his involvement in domestic violence incidents, as reported by multiple sources. According to court documents cited by ESPN, Jones pleaded no contest to a domestic violence charge and was given a suspended 90-day sentence.

Under the terms of his sentence, Jones will avoid serving any jail time if he adheres to specific conditions, one of which includes maintaining no contact with the victim, as stated by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The 34-year-old NFL player was initially arrested on September 28 for violating a domestic violence temporary protective order. Less than a month later, he was detained again for breaching the same order.

ESPN revealed that one of the misdemeanor charges filed against Jones was later dismissed. Furthermore, if he abides by the imposed conditions for a period of six months, starting from June 17, the second charge will be dismissed as well.

Chandler Jones, a Super Bowl champion and four-time Pro Bowler, was released by the Raiders in September 2022, during the early stages of his second season with the team. His departure followed the initial arrest related to the domestic violence incident. Previously, Jones had signed a lucrative three-year, $51 million contract with the Raiders.

Prior to his arrest, concerns about Jones' mental health had arisen due to his social media activity. In a since-deleted post, he claimed to have been taken to a hospital against his will.

Jones' last appearance in an NFL game dates back to 2022.
