**Florida Quarterback DJ Lagway Suffers Significant Hamstring Injury Against Georgia**

In a troubling development for the Florida Gators, quarterback DJ Lagway was carted off the field during Saturday's matchup against No. 2 Georgia following a severe hamstring injury. Lagway, who assumed the role of starting quarterback after Graham Mertz's season-ending ACL tear against Tennessee, could not bear weight on his leg and needed assistance into the cart.

Before his untimely exit, Lagway had led the Gators to an impressive 10-3 lead just before halftime, highlighted by a 43-yard touchdown pass to Aidan Mizell in the second quarter. Entering the game, Lagway had recorded 1,024 passing yards, five touchdowns, and five interceptions this season, along with 96 rushing yards. The former five-star recruit was notably the No. 7 overall player and the No. 2 quarterback in the 2024 recruiting class per 247Sports' Composite rankings.

The crowd at EverBank Stadium showed strong support for Lagway, chanting his name as he was taken off the field. The injury occurred when Lagway hurt his left hamstring and was attended to by Florida's medical staff for several moments before being carted away.

Florida head coach Billy Napier confirmed the severity of the hamstring injury during a halftime interview with Holly Rowe, describing it as "pretty significant." Napier assured fans of Lagway's resilience, stating, "He's a tough kid. I can promise you one thing, this team will rally behind him for sure."

Lagway's confirmed significant hamstring injury casts doubt on his availability for the upcoming games, posing a substantial challenge for the Florida Gators moving forward.
