FIFA has taken another step towards the highly anticipated FIFA World Cup 26™ by releasing the first edition of the online Team Base Camp brochure. This brochure showcases potential training sites and accommodation pairings for the 48 participating teams during the group stage of the tournament.

The brochure, comprising a list of 24 high-grade locations, gives teams multiple options to consider for their final selection. Over the next 18 months, additional locations across Canada, Mexico, and the USA will be added, expanding the scope of this historic tournament.

One significant aspect of the brochure is its correlation with the recently published match schedule for FIFA World Cup 26™. The schedule, now color-coded, highlights the potential pathways to glory for the host nations - Canada, Mexico, and the USA. It provides a clear understanding of the routes these nations would have to navigate if they finish first or second in their respective groups.

In addition to the 16 Host Cities, the brochure features nine other potential Team Base Camp locations, including Chattanooga, Cincinnati, Green Bay, Irvine, Louisville, St. Louis, Salt Lake City, San Antonio, and Westfield. These cities, although not staging matches, will become a hub for the participating teams, creating a strong local bond with the competition.

Heimo Schirgi, the Chief Operating Officer World Cup, expressed the significance of welcoming teams to different cities, even if they are not directly involved in hosting matches. He commented, "It will see them adopt their guests as a second team during the tournament, thereby connecting even more people to the FIFA World Cup."

The first edition of the Team Base Camp brochure is just the beginning, as FIFA is currently accepting expressions of interest from other cities and towns across the three host nations to propose facilities as possible Team Base Camps. Updates to the brochure will be made in late 2024 and throughout 2025, allowing for a more comprehensive selection process.
