**Fantasy Football Week 11: Key Players to Monitor**
As Week 11 of fantasy football approaches, several players are anticipated to see variations in their performance, impacting managers' strategies.
Ladd McConkey, presently ranked as the 19th wide receiver in fantasy football, might experience a drop in production this week. While the Cincinnati Bengals have allowed the 18th-most fantasy points to wide receivers, McConkey's matchup against cornerback Mike Hilton poses a challenge. Hilton has been remarkable in coverage, allowing just 0.11 fantasy points per route and being targeted on a mere 9% of routes, one of the lowest percentages among cornerbacks. Despite increased passing attempts from the Chargers, McConkey is viewed as a low-end WR3/WR4 this week. Fantasy managers should consider exploring other options if available.
Ja'Marr Chase, who delivered impressive performances earlier this season, might also see reduced productivity. Although he scored 26.8 fantasy points in Week 3 and 36.3 in Week 5, his performance dipped to 16 points in Week 4 and 9.7 in Week 6. This week, Chase faces the Los Angeles Chargers, a team that employs zone coverage 81.2% of the time, just behind the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Chase's separation score against zone coverage ranks 22nd among receivers, and his win rate is 36th. Furthermore, Chargers’ corners have restricted receivers to under 0.25 fantasy points per route. This projection downgrades Chase to a WR2 role for this matchup rather than his typical WR1 status.
Josh Downs’ fantasy prospects are bleak this week for two primary reasons. First, quarterback Anthony Richardson, who has a completion rate of only 44.4%, returns. In five starts, Richardson has completed more than 10 passes only once, highlighting his struggles. According to StatMuse, this is the lowest completion rate for a quarterback with over 100 passes in the past 20 years. Moreover, Downs faces Michael Carter, who is tied for eighth in fantasy points allowed per route this season, averaging 0.16 points. Given these factors, Downs, currently ranked as WR22, may not maintain his WR2 status. Managers are advised to bench Downs if they have more viable alternatives.
Fantasy football enthusiasts should keep a close eye on these developments and adjust their rosters accordingly for Week 11.
