### Anthony Richardson: A Rollercoaster Start to 2024 Leaves Fantasy Managers Uneasy

Anthony Richardson's performance heading into Week 4 of the 2024 NFL season has left Fantasy Football managers in a quandary. With only 82 dropbacks this season, Richardson's completion rate stands at 49.3%, gaining 8.0 yards per attempt. His deeper throws, with an average depth of 12.6 yards, have led to a deep-throw rate of 31.5% and an off-target rate of 17.8%.

While Richardson has managed three passing touchdowns, his six interceptions speak to a significant regression in his passing efficiency. His inclination towards deep, low-percentage plays hasn't helped, and he's scrambling less effectively than last year. In 2024, he's only scrambled for 72 yards and one score on six designed pass plays.

Compared to his 2023 statistics, Richardson's decline is evident. Over 98 dropbacks last year, he completed 59.5% of his passes, with three touchdowns and just one interception. His deep-throw rate was slightly lower at 23.8%, while his off-target rate was better at 14.3%. His rushing stats were more impressive too, with 99 yards and four scores on 18 designed run plays.

Analysts have pointed out that Richardson's mechanics have deteriorated, notably his lack of a planted right foot when passing. This, combined with a seeming lack of composure, is troubling as the Colts prepare to face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 4. The Steelers' defense has been formidable against quarterbacks, allowing just 8.3 Fantasy points per game and no more than 50 rushing yards to any QB since 2021.

Given these numbers, the panic meter for Richardson in Fantasy Football is firmly on "high." Fantasy managers are advised to proceed with caution, potentially reconsidering their choices until Richardson demonstrates more stability. A solid performance in Week 4 could turn the tide, particularly with a more favorable matchup against Jacksonville looming in Week 5.
