In an unexpected turn of events, the highly anticipated mod Fallout London has been postponed indefinitely due to a lack of communication from Bethesda regarding their upcoming Fallout 4 update. Dean Carter, the project lead for Team Folon, expressed his frustration about being blindsided by Bethesda's move during an interview with the BBC.

Carter revealed that his team had received no prior information from Bethesda regarding the release plans for the Fallout 4 update, causing an unforeseen delay in the development timeline for Fallout London. The mod, which aims to bring London to the Fallout 4 universe, has been in the works for years and generated significant excitement from fans.

The Fallout 4 update, scheduled to be released on April 25, 2024, introduced various improvements and fixes across platforms such as PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S. The update also included stability enhancements, support for up to 60fps, and quest updates. While fans eagerly anticipated diving into these enhancements, the lack of communication with Team Folon left them waiting in disappointment.

Carter expressed his frustration about the situation, questioning why his team wasn't informed about the Fallout 4 update despite signing non-disclosure agreements with other companies. He emphasized the need for open dialogue to avoid such setbacks and highlighted the impact the delay has had on the hard work of his team over the past four years.

The Fallout London mod had initially been set to release on April 23, 2024, but Bethesda's surprise update announcement caused a significant shift in the development plans. Carter emphasized the importance of respecting fans' expectations and suggested that a simple conversation from Bethesda could have prevented this letdown.

Unfortunately, Fallout London's new release date remains uncertain as Team Folon works to adapt to the Fallout 4 update. The delay has sparked backlash from fans, with some blaming Bethesda for the lack of communication. Carter urged fans not to direct their anger towards Bethesda, acknowledging that the blame is, to some extent, inevitable when communication breakdowns occur.

For now, the Fallout London team continues their dedication to creating an immersive and engaging mod for their devoted fanbase. Though disappointed by the delay, Carter echoed the sentiment that the mod is ultimately being developed for the fans and expressed his hope that future communication with Bethesda will prevent further disruptions.

As Fallout London's release hangs in the balance, fans remain eager to explore the tantalizing prospect of a London-based adventure within the Fallout universe.
