### Samsung Faces Challenges with Exynos 2500, Shifts to Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy S25

Samsung's highly anticipated Galaxy S25 will launch exclusively with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, highlighting ongoing issues with the Exynos 2500. The Exynos 2500, expected to power Samsung's latest flagship series, has faced significant setbacks due to poor yields, causing delays in its release despite mass production starting back in February.

The Exynos 2500 has shown disappointing performance in both single-core and multi-core benchmarks. For instance, Abhishek Yadav posted the Geekbench 6 results, revealing a 10-core CPU configuration ('1 + 2 + 5 + 2') with the fastest core clocked at 3.30GHz. Despite the high core count, which is often an indicator of better multitasking capabilities, the Exynos 2500 scored only 7,563 points in multi-core tests and an even more underwhelming 2,012 points in single-core tests.

Comparatively, the Exynos 2500 lags behind competitors such as the Snapdragon 8 Elite, Apple's A19 and A19 Pro, MediaTek's Dimensity 9400, and Xiaomi's new XRING 01. Specifically, the Exynos 2500 was outperformed by Xiaomi's XRING 01, with its only narrow victory being over Google's Tensor G4.

Samsung has equipped the Exynos 2500 with 12GB of RAM and an Xclipse 950 GPU developed in collaboration with AMD. Nevertheless, this has not been enough to boost its standing against rival chipsets. Reports have indicated that while the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will feature the Exynos 2500, the more premium Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, reflecting a strategic shift due to the Exynos 2500's subpar performance.
