**Escaped Zebra "Ed" Safely Captured in Rutherford County**

A pet zebra's daring adventure in Rutherford County, Tennessee, came to a close after more than a week on the run, culminating in its capture on June 8. "Ed," the zebra, was successfully located and apprehended by the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office (RCSO) in a field near the Buchanan Estates subdivision in Christiana.

The zebra's escape saga began on May 30. After being brought home by its owner on May 29, Ed was reported missing the very next day. The zebra's initial sighting by locals on Epps Mill Road quickly escalated as it ventured onto Interstate 24, causing deputies to shut down multiple lanes of traffic on May 31.

Despite the quick response from authorities, Ed managed to escape into a wooded area off I-24 between Joe B. Jackson Parkway and the Epps Mill Road exit. For several days, the whereabouts of the zebra remained unknown, until it was finally spotted again on June 6 near Ridgewood Drive in Christiana.

Utilizing modern technology, deputies located Ed with the help of a drone camera. The success of the operation can be attributed to the collaborative efforts of the RCSO, Tennessee Highway Patrol, and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. Before being safely airlifted by helicopter into an animal trailer, veterinary professionals were consulted to ensure the zebra's well-being during the rescue.

Ed's escapade turned him into a local sensation, with social media in Middle Tennessee buzzing with memes and sightings of the runaway zebra at various locations around the area. The story of Ed's adventures surely left an indelible mark on the community.
