In a recent announcement, Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts revealed that right-handed pitcher Kyle Hurt has been placed on the 15-day injured list due to right shoulder inflammation. The move is retroactive to April 17. The Dodgers have called up right-hander Nick Ramirez from Triple-A to fill the vacant spot on the team's 26-man roster.

Hurt, who was just recalled from Triple-A last Tuesday, showcased his talent by pitching two scoreless innings in the Dodgers' 6-2 victory over the Nationals. Throughout his brief MLB career, Hurt has demonstrated promise, yielding only one earned run over 6 2/3 innings, resulting in an impressive 1.04 ERA. Additionally, he has proven his control on the mound, issuing just one walk to Major League batters.

However, Hurt's track record in the minor leagues has shown some control issues, with a high 14.03% walk rate over 188 2/3 innings. Nevertheless, his equally impressive 36.6% strikeout rate indicates his potential as a future bullpen asset. Considering Hurt's 65 career minor league games, of which he started 41, the Dodgers may explore his capabilities as a starter before any transition to relief work.

Unfortunately, Hurt's placement on the injured list adds to the Dodgers' growing list of injured pitchers. Currently, he becomes the 10th pitcher on the team's injured list as the Dodgers face the challenge of finding healthy arms to fill innings. The situation is further complicated by the team's decision to limit Yoshinobu Yamamoto's usage to once a week, mirroring his usage in Japan.

Although there is hope for the return of Walker Buehler, who is progressing in his recovery from Tommy John surgery, he is expected to make at least one more minor league rehab start before being activated. The Dodgers will eagerly await the return of their injured pitchers as they navigate the pitching schedule and strive for success on the field.

As Hurt's rehabilitation begins, the Dodgers are hopeful that the talented right-hander will make a swift recovery and return to the mound in top form.
