**Dodgers' Extra-Inning Woes Continue as Tanner Scott Struggles Again**

Los Angeles Dodgers’ bullpen issues deepened Monday night after a crushing 4-3 extra-inning loss to the New York Mets. Manager Dave Roberts had once called new acquisition Tanner Scott "an assassin," but lately, Scott has been missing his mark, jeopardizing the team's success.

In a game that exemplified their recent struggles, Scott, the Dodgers' high-profile $72 million signing, allowed two critical runs in the top of the 10th inning. Scott's performance on Monday added to a troubling pattern; his fastball missed locations, and his pitches failed to generate enough swing and miss, making hitters feel more confident at the plate. This latest meltdown marked Scott’s second loss of the season and his fifth blown save in 15 opportunities.

"Missed locations, especially down in the zone," Scott admitted post-game. His failure to spot his pitches effectively was evident as Francisco Alvarez hit an RBI double off a center-cut fastball, followed by Francisco Lindor singling in another run. Scott, who once dominated with high-velocity pitches and a sharp slider, saw his ERA climb to 4.73, the highest among the Dodgers’ relievers.

The unfortunate outing overshadowed the team's efforts to come back into the game. Dustin May had delivered six solid innings, giving up two runs and showing resilience on the mound. Shohei Ohtani also heroically erased a 2-0 deficit with a massive home run in the seventh and later tied the game in the ninth with a sacrifice fly.

May's performance, which lowered his ERA to 4.09, was a personal milestone, marking his first venture past the 60-inning mark in a season during his injury-ridden career. "I'm healthy. I feel healthy. There's no pain," May commented, looking forward to building on his recent performances.

Despite coming back to tie the game late, Scott’s struggles in the 10th proved fatal. Freddie Freeman and Andy Pages provided some hope with a walk and an RBI single, respectively. However, the team ultimately fell short, unable to capitalize with runners in scoring position throughout the night.

Roberts acknowledged the issue with Scott’s command, stressing that the pitcher's stuff remained good but wasn’t located well. The Dodgers’ bullpen, already strained by injuries, including notable absences such as Blake Treinen and Evan Phillips, continues to have Scott assumed the majority of the closing duties, despite inconsistent performances.

The team's challenge was marked further by a tough stretch in their schedule and signs of inconsistency, even after winning two of three games against the Yankees. They will need to find solutions to their bullpen woes if they hope to maintain a competitive edge this season.
