In conjunction with this transaction, the Dodgers placed pitcher Tyler Glasnow on the 60-day injured list to create space on their roster.

Originally placed on the 15-day injured list due to inflammation in his right shoulder, Glasnow has been sidelined for over a month. After being shut down for more than two weeks, he resumed throwing in mid-May and successfully completed a bullpen session last weekend. However, the transition to the 60-day IL means Glasnow will not be available until late June, giving him ample time to regain arm strength and fitness. Given his history of injuries, the Dodgers are cautious about rushing his return.

Robinson, who was designated for assignment by the Angels earlier this week, now joins Hunter Feduccia and Chris Okey as part of the Triple-A catching squad for the Dodgers. This move comes as top prospect Dalton Rushing, now backing up Will Smith on the main roster, focuses solely on catching despite having experience in the outfield and at first base. Robinson brings some Major League experience to the table, having played 51 games combined for the Cincinnati Reds in 2022 and the Chicago White Sox last season. Over 136 plate appearances in the big league, he has a batting line of .132/.170/.194.

The Dodgers' decision to secure Robinson reflects their strategy to maintain strong backup options and depth in their catching lineup, particularly as they navigate significant injuries among their pitching staff.
