In a devastating incident at the Disneyland Resort, a long-time employee tragically lost her life after a collision involving a golf cart. The news was confirmed by the Anaheim, Calif. police to Entertainment Weekly.

The incident took place backstage, away from the view of park guests, prompting an immediate response from police, fire, and rescue personnel on Wednesday. It was reported that the employee, identified as 60-year-old Bonnye Mavis Lear, fell from a moving golf cart, sustaining a severe head injury.

Lear was quickly transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. However, despite medical efforts, she sadly succumbed to her injuries on Friday. The loss of Lear, who had been with the Disneyland Resort for 24 years and supported membership services at Club 33, a private dining club, has left both her colleagues and the theme park community devastated.

Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock expressed his deep condolences in a statement to EW, saying, "We are heartbroken by the loss of Bonnye and offer our sincere condolences to everyone who cared for her. At this time, we are focused on supporting her family and our cast members through this tragic event and making sure they have the resources they need."

Fellow employees and Disney theme parks vlogger Just Ask Danny mourned the loss of Lear, highlighting her kindness and dedication. "I used to work with Bonnye, and she was quite literally the kindest human who worked at the Disneyland Resort," wrote Just Ask Danny on X. "This is truly very sad for her family and fellow cast at the Club."

The collision that resulted in Lear's tragic outcome is currently under investigation by Anaheim police and traffic detectives. Their thorough examination aims to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As the Disneyland Resort community grieves the loss of their beloved colleague, efforts are being made to offer support to Lear's family and fellow cast members impacted by this heartbreaking event. Disneyland remains committed to ensuring that those affected have access to the necessary resources during this difficult time.
