With a projected near $30 million, the film is set to match, if not exceed, its record-breaking Tuesday debut of $29.1 million, making it one of the most successful animated movies in recent times. Representatives from Disney have chosen not to comment on the matter.

While it's important to take these projections with a grain of salt, even a box office performance in the range of $20 million-plus would be a major achievement for Inside Out 2. If the forecast holds true, the film will set a new Juneteenth holiday box office record, surpassing the $21 million earned by 2022's Jurassic World: Dominion (note that Juneteenth fell on a Sunday that year).

Assuming these projections are accurate, the cumulative domestic earnings for the star-studded ensemble film featuring the voices of Amy Poehler, Maya Hawke, Tony Hale, Lewis Black, Phyllis Smith, and Ayo Edebiri will reach an impressive $235 million.

When it comes to Wednesday releases, Inside Out 2 will claim the top spot for Pixar films, surpassing Incredibles 2's previous record of $19.7 million. However, among all animated movies released on a Wednesday, Inside Out 2 will secure the third spot, trailing behind Despicable Me 2's opening day of $35 million (on July 3, 2013) and the Super Mario Bros Movie, which earned $31.7 million on its opening day in 2023.

In related box office news, Bad Boys: Ride or Die is also expected to have a successful day, with an estimated $5 million, marking a 16% increase from Tuesday's $4.3 million. The Will Smith and Martin Lawrence-starring fourth film in the franchise, directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, will reach a running total of $125.6 million on its 13th day. Impressively, this figure is only 2% behind its predecessor, Bad Boys for Life, which concluded its domestic run at $206.3 million.

As these box office projections continue to roll in, it's clear that audiences are eager to return to theaters and enjoy the latest offerings from beloved franchises like Inside Out and Bad Boys.
