Williams, charged with carrying a concealed weapon after a traffic stop earlier this month, avoided arrest or citation at the scene, prompting an investigation by the Detroit Police Department into the incident.

The Lions organization confirmed that Williams had promptly informed them about the matter. During a press conference, Campbell admitted that the situation "certainly doesn't look good." However, he emphasized that the team maintains its support for Williams, appreciating his honesty throughout the ordeal.

Campbell addressed concerns about Williams' awareness of the potential impact of continued off-field issues on his career. Reflecting on Williams' growth, Campbell expressed confidence in the young player's increasing understanding of the situation. "I think he does," Campbell remarked. "I think he's become more and more aware of that over time. For me, I judge people for what's in their heart. I know what this kid's made of and he's worth hanging with. He's gonna learn from this, he's gonna grow, he'll be better for all this."

Williams is currently serving the second game of his two-game suspension for using performance-enhancing drugs, rendering him unavailable for the Lions' next matchup against the Packers. Despite these setbacks, Campbell remains optimistic about Williams' future, believing in his ability to learn and improve from his experiences.
