Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson recently made a surprising revelation, suggesting that he may have suffered a fractured shoulder in Week 3 of the NFL season. Watson, who was sidelined with a right shoulder injury in Week 4, confirmed that his previous comments about being unable to play were not "bullshit" after all.

It was during a big hit by Amani Hooker that Watson suspects his shoulder may have been fractured. Dr. Neal ElAttrache, the Rams team physician who operated on Watson, shared his speculation that the injury might have actually occurred in Week 3 rather than in Week 10 as initially believed.

Despite the possible fracture, Watson displayed tremendous resilience, playing through the injury to lead the Browns to a remarkable comeback victory over the Ravens in Week 10. At the time, he was diagnosed with a rotator cuff strain, which caused him to miss a significant portion of the season.

Upon examining Watson, Dr. ElAttrache expressed amazement at how the quarterback managed to play through the injury, particularly in the Baltimore game. Watson's healing progress has been positive, with the glenoid bone in his shoulder reportedly healed. However, the focus now is on building endurance and managing fatigue from constant throwing.

Currently, Watson has resumed throwing at full speed, but Dr. ElAttrache is taking a cautious approach to his return. The three-time Pro Bowler is expected to have limited throwing during the offseason program. However, the outlook is positive, as Watson stated that he feels confident and anticipates being fully ready for Week 1 of the upcoming season.

Reflecting on his experience, Watson emphasized the importance of patience and staying focused throughout the rehabilitation process. He expressed gratitude for the support of his medical team and teammates, emphasizing his commitment to becoming a better person and player.

With ample time remaining until the start of the new season, all eyes will be on Deshaun Watson's progress as he works towards a successful return on the field.
