### Dean Pees Returns to Baltimore Ravens as Senior Advisor

In a significant move for the Baltimore Ravens’ coaching staff, first-year defensive coordinator Zach Orr has welcomed back a familiar face. Dean Pees, who previously held the defensive coordinator position with the Ravens from 2012 to 2017, has been appointed as a senior advisor, as reported by Jeff Zrebiec of TheAthletic.com.

Zach Orr, who played as a linebacker under Pees for three seasons during his first tenure with the Ravens, expressed his enthusiasm about the reunion. “He's a guy who knows me as a person, knows the system, knows the culture here,” Orr commented. “He's a Raven."

Pees has an extensive history in NFL coaching, marked by multiple retirements and subsequent returns. After initially retiring following the 2018 season, Pees was persuaded to return by Mike Vrabel to work with the Tennessee Titans. His stint in Tennessee ended with another retirement in January 2020, but he soon came back to serve as the defensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons in 2021. Most recently, he announced his retirement again in January 2023, only to be brought back once more, this time to Baltimore.

The hiring of Pees as a senior advisor brings experienced leadership and a well-known system back to the Ravens' defense, reinforcing the cultural and strategic continuity that Zach Orr aims to maintain in his new role.
