### Dak Prescott to Undergo Season-Ending Surgery, Cowboys' Struggles Continue

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott's season has come to an unfortunate end as he is set to undergo surgery on his torn hamstring this Wednesday in New York. The announcement came via team owner Jerry Jones during his regular appearance on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas. This injury forced Prescott to miss Sunday’s game, where the Cowboys suffered a heavy defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles.

The severity of Prescott's injury was initially a matter of speculation, but with surgery now confirmed, any hopes for his return this season have been dashed. Stepping in for Prescott, Cooper Rush had difficulties leading the Cowboys' offense, which failed to find rhythm in his absence.

Prescott's performance this season was being closely watched, especially after an impressive 2022 where he threw for 4,516 yards and 36 touchdowns against just nine interceptions. In the current season, Prescott managed to complete 64.7% of his passes, amassing 1,978 yards with 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions over eight games. These numbers reflect a dip in his production compared to his previous standout season.

Adding to the Cowboys' woes, their record stands at 3-6. Despite a high-profile contract extension signed before the season, Prescott’s injury compounds a challenging year for the franchise. The Cowboys look ahead to their next matchup, where they will face the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football in Week 11.
