**Cowboys Edge Past Giants but Lose Parsons and Lawrence to Injuries**
In a closely contested 20-15 victory over the New York Giants on Thursday night, the Dallas Cowboys faced a significant setback with two of their defensive stars sustaining injuries.
Late in the fourth quarter, All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons had to leave the game after injuring his left ankle. An MRI conducted on Friday confirmed that Parsons suffered a high ankle sprain. Despite being carted off the field and assisted to the locker room, Parsons expressed his intention to play in Week 5 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Nonetheless, reports from NFL Network's Tom Pelissero suggest that Parsons might miss more than just the upcoming game, with no official timeline disclosed by the team.
Adding to the Cowboys' defensive woes, four-time Pro Bowl defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence injured his foot in the third quarter. Lawrence, who leads the team in sacks with three, is expected to miss multiple weeks, as per Pelissero's reports.
The injuries come at a challenging time for the Cowboys, who have two more games before their Week 7 bye. Despite the concerning news, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones remains optimistic. Speaking on 105.3 The Fan, Jones downplayed the severity of the injuries. "I'm pleased that they feel good. Both feel good about it. That's usually a good sign," Jones remarked. He further added, "I don't know when I've seen a serious injury that the doctors didn't say that's a serious injury before the X-ray."
As the Cowboys look to navigate the coming weeks without two of their key defensive players, the team and its fans will be watching closely for updates on Parsons and Lawrence’s recoveries.
