In a recent development, concerns have emerged over the unique single-piece windshield wiper design of Tesla's Cybertruck. Reports of burning out windshield wiper motors have sparked rumors of potential delivery delays for the highly anticipated electric vehicle.

The Cybertruck Owners Club Forum saw a flurry of activity over the weekend, with users sharing their dissatisfaction and apprehension regarding the windshield wiper problem. One member, Greyfish, raised the alarm by claiming that all Cybertruck deliveries had been temporarily put on hold due to a newly discovered safety issue related to the windshield wiper motor.

Numerous individuals voiced their grievances in the forum thread, detailing various issues they encountered with the windshield wiper system. Complaints ranged from the motor failing to work at all to burning out quickly after minimal usage. One frustrated poster explained how they had been waiting for weeks to have their wiper motor replaced, eventually choosing to take their truck back while awaiting the part.

Several users speculated that the existing windshield wiper motors would eventually require replacement, as they seemed to be prone to malfunctions. Plaidmodelx stated, "My wiper never worked. It took 2 weeks to get the part. Apparently, the old motors will all fail, and the replacement has a new part number."

However, not all forum contributors shared these concerns, with some members claiming they had experienced no issues with their windshield wipers even after substantial usage. HaulingAss wrote, "I've used my wipers a lot over the last 1855 miles without noticing any problem. You say it's a safety issue? I will pray that no harm comes to me!"

Tesla has yet to comment officially on the windshield wiper problem and did not immediately respond to inquiries about the issue. Previously, in April, the company recalled around 4,000 Cybertrucks due to problems with the accelerator pedal trim, where the pad would dislodge and result in the pedal becoming stuck when subjected to high force.

While the current issue with the windshield wiper motors may not be as severe as the accelerator pedal trim problem, some Cybertruck owners have highlighted the potential dangers of driving in the rain without functioning wipers. Users recounted experiences of being unable to see during heavy rainfall and the consequential need to seek shelter until the rain subsided.

In light of the windshield wiper problems and complaints about the distracting design, some forum members have suggested applying Rain-X or other similar treatments to the windshield. Rain-X is a chemical product that causes water to bead up and run off the glass, potentially reducing the need for wipers altogether.

As of now, it remains uncertain how Tesla will address the reported issues with the Cybertruck's windshield wiper system, further fueling concerns of possible delivery delays for eager customers. For now, Cybertruck owners are left hopeful for a prompt resolution to ensure safe and efficient journeys, particularly in inclement weather conditions.
