**Comcast Experiences Revenue Boost from Paris Olympics**

Comcast has reported a significant increase in revenue, fueled by its exclusive broadcasting of the Summer Olympics in Paris. The third-quarter earnings revealed that the event contributed to a $1.9 billion surge, marking Comcast's highest-ever revenue from the Olympics.

Mike Cavanagh, President of Comcast, shared insights during the company's earnings call. According to Cavanagh, the impressive figures were primarily driven by a rise in advertising from various brands targeting Olympic audiences. This success is a noteworthy highlight for Comcast, especially as the company navigates the shifting media landscape.

In addition to the revenue boost from the Paris Games, Comcast saw its streaming service, Peacock, gain traction. During the third quarter, Peacock added 3 million paid subscribers, bringing its total to 36 million. This growth underscores the increasing consumer preference for streaming services over traditional cable TV.

Comcast's total revenue for the quarter reached $32.07 billion, surpassing analysts' expectations of $31.66 billion. Despite this positive outcome, the company experienced a reduction in cable TV subscribers, losing 365,000, which was still less than the anticipated 420,300 losses.

The media industry is witnessing significant changes, with companies like Comcast adapting their strategies to align with current trends. The success of the Paris Olympics broadcast and the growth of Peacock illustrate Comcast's ability to leverage major events and capitalize on the streaming trend to drive revenue.
