**Colts Face Major Setbacks Ahead of Crucial Jacksonville Matchup**
The Indianapolis Colts are facing significant challenges as they prepare to break their nearly decade-long losing streak against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Head coach Shane Steichen announced on Friday that star running back Jonathan Taylor will miss the Week 5 game due to an ankle injury. Taylor, who has not participated in practice this week, has been a key player for the Colts, rushing for 349 yards and scoring four touchdowns in just four games this season. He has also contributed to the passing game with six receptions for 77 yards.
In Taylor's absence, Trey Sermon is expected to step in as the starting running back. The uncertainty doesn't stop there for the Colts, as quarterback Anthony Richardson's availability is also in doubt. Dealing with an oblique injury, Richardson was limited in practice throughout the week. While Steichen did not confirm his game status, it appears likely that Richardson will be listed as questionable. If Richardson is unable to play, veteran quarterback Joe Flacco is poised to take over the reins.
The Colts' injury woes extend beyond the offensive lineup. Steichen also confirmed that defensive end Kwity Paye, who is suffering from a quad injury, and cornerback Kenny Moore, dealing with a hip issue, have both been ruled out for the game. These absences add to the growing list of challenges as the team looks to secure a much-needed win.
Indianapolis is set to release its full injury report, which will include official game statuses, later on Friday. The Colts, currently balancing on a tightrope of injuries and uncertain player availability, face an uphill battle as they aim to end their Jacksonville drought.
