Saturday Night Live star Colin Jost recently expressed his regret over a questionable purchase he made in 2022 - a decommissioned Staten Island Ferry. The actor and comedian, along with fellow SNL cast member Pete Davidson, acquired the retired vessel, named the John F. Kennedy, for a sum of $280,000. However, Jost now considers it "absolutely the dumbest and least thought-through purchase" he has ever made in his life.

In an interview with People magazine, Jost shared his feelings of disappointment during New York Fashion Week, which coincided with a fashion show held on the ill-fated ferry. The Tommy Hilfiger show took place aboard the MV JFK, an ambitious venture spearheaded by Jost, Davidson, architect and developer Ron Castellano, and comedy club owner Paul Italia. Their plan was to transform the ferry into a spectacular $34 million entertainment venue.

On Sunday, the journey of the MV JFK ferryboat continued as it played host to Tommy Hilfiger's much-anticipated fashion show. The event, known for its grandeur, marked a flagship moment during New York Fashion Week. However, the evening was not without its challenges, as the boat reportedly rocked during the spectacle.

To add to the surprise element of the event, the fashion show concluded with a captivating performance by three members of the iconic hip-hop group, Wu-Tang Clan. Remarkably, the Wu-Tang Clan also hails from Staten Island, further connecting the show to its unique location.

Despite the success of the fashion show, Jost's disappointment in the ferry purchase remains evident. The SNL star's comments have sparked speculation about the future of the MV JFK and its proposed transformation into an entertainment venue. It remains to be seen how Jost and his partners will navigate this unexpected turn of events and whether they can salvage their costly investment.

The ill-fated purchase of the decommissioned Staten Island Ferry by Colin Jost and Pete Davidson has garnered attention and left many wondering how they will rebound from what Jost has described as a lack of foresight. In the world of showbiz, sometimes even the brightest stars can find themselves caught in the choppy waters of regret.
