In preparation for their upcoming game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Cincinnati Bengals have unveiled their first official depth chart for the 2024 NFL season. While preseason depth charts should be taken with a grain of salt, as roster battles are still ongoing, they offer a glimpse into the starting lineups and key positions for the Bengals.

On the offensive side of the ball, veteran Trent Brown has been listed as the starting right tackle, with promising first-round pick Amarius Mims serving as his backup. Mims has had an impressive training camp so far, but he will need to demonstrate a strong performance during the preseason to overtake Brown for the starting position.

At the wide receiver position, Trenton Irwin has secured a starting role alongside standout rookies Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Irwin's consistency and reliability throughout camp undoubtedly earned him this spot on the depth chart.

In the running back battle, Zack Moss has been designated as the top option, aiming to surpass second-year back Chase Brown for the starting role. Both players will be looking to make their mark during the preseason games.

On the defensive side, Sheldon Rankins has claimed the starting nose tackle position, with Jay Tufele serving as his backup. Rankins' experience and solid performance during camp have earned him the nod on the depth chart.

Cornerback duties will be shared between DJ Turner, who is listed as the second boundary starter, and Cam Taylor-Britt. Meanwhile, Dax Hill, a former first-round pick, is poised to challenge for the starting spot as he is listed as Turner's backup.

In the safety positions, Geno Stone appears to have secured the starting spot, while Vonn Bell and Jordan Battle are in a competitive battle for the other safety position. Bell currently holds the starter designation, but Battle is expected to have a significant role regardless of the outcome.

Special teams-wise, Brad Robbins is listed as the starting punter, while undrafted free agent Austin McNamara will serve as his backup. Additionally, Trayveon Williams has been named the top kickoff returner, while Charlie Jones takes on the role of the top punt returner.

As fans eagerly await the start of the season, this initial depth chart provides a glimpse into the Bengals' starting lineup and showcases the ongoing competition within the team. It's important to remember that these positions are subject to change based on preseason performances and future roster moves. Nevertheless, Bengals supporters can use this depth chart as a starting point to anticipate an exciting season ahead.
