**Coldplay’s Chris Martin Takes a Fall During Melbourne Concert, Sets Attendance Record**

Coldplay’s frontman, Chris Martin, experienced an unexpected tumble on stage during a concert in Melbourne, Australia. The incident occurred on Sunday as Martin was engaging with the crowd and reading signs, while unknowingly walking backward toward a trap door.

Video footage shared widely on social media captures the moment Martin stumbled into the opening, where a vigilant crew member managed to catch him. “That's not planned,” Martin remarked with a touch of humor after the fall, expressing gratitude to the crew member who broke his fall.

The band is currently on its extensive "Music of the Spheres" tour, which kicked off in March 2022 and is scheduled to continue until September 2025. Sunday’s concert marked the last of Coldplay’s four shows at Melbourne's Marvel Stadium.

While representatives for both Coldplay and Marvel Stadium have yet to provide a comment on the incident, this mishap isn’t a lone occurrence. Recently, Olivia Rodrigo faced a similar scenario when she fell through a stage opening at her concert at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on October 14. She quickly reassured fans, saying, “Oh, my God, that was fun. I'm OK.”

In spite of the unexpected accident, Coldplay had a major reason to celebrate their Melbourne finale. Marvel Stadium announced on Instagram that the band broke the venue's attendance record, drawing in 227,000 fans over their four shows. This achievement surpasses the previous record set by AC/DC in 2010, which had a total of 181,495 concertgoers.
