### Chiefs Rally Behind Travis Kelce Amid Criticism

However, Chiefs' head coach Andy Reid dismisses the notion that these factors have diminished Kelce's performance.

Reid emphasized that opposing defenses remain highly concerned about Kelce, often double or triple-teaming him in coverage. "People might say he's old or distracted, but the defenses don't think that," Reid said. "He’s working hard, hasn’t lost a step, and isn’t distracted. Defenses are making sure to have him covered."

Statistically, Kelce has had a slow start this season, with eight catches for 69 yards and no touchdowns over three games. However, both Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes have come to Kelce's defense, emphasizing his ongoing impact on the field. "Teams have to adjust coverage on Rashee," Mahomes said. "If they don't, Rashee is going to have 2,000 yards."
