Bronny James, the highly anticipated rookie for the Los Angeles Lakers, has encountered a rough start in the Summer League. In the three games he has played so far, James has struggled with his shooting, resulting in abysmal offensive numbers.

Throughout the California Classic and a game in Las Vegas, James has managed to make only 6 out of 26 shots from the field. Even more concerning is his 0-for-12 performance from beyond the arc, failing to sink a single 3-point attempt. As a result, he has accumulated a mere 15 points in total, contributing to the Lakers' three consecutive losses.

Speaking to reporters following the team's defeat against the Houston Rockets on Friday, James admitted feeling like he is currently in a slump. This struggle with shooting has been evident in his previous playing experiences, not only in the Summer League but also during his time at USC, where he shot 36.6% from the field and 26.1% from 3-point range over 25 games.

Standing at under 6-foot-2, James lacks the awe-inspiring athleticism of his father, LeBron James, and therefore must rely on his shooting ability to establish himself in the NBA. However, his performance in the summer league has fallen short in that regard.

Despite his current difficulties, there is hope that James can turn things around in Monday's game against the Celtics. However, it is important to note that his overall offensive development will be a gradual process that may take years rather than being determined solely by his performance in Summer League.

Aware of the areas in which he needs to improve, James expressed his willingness to accept assignments at the G-League level. He is eager to gain more experience and develop his game, regardless of the level at which he plays, as he stated in his interview with reporters.

On a positive note, James has showcased his defensive skills, displaying strength and court awareness that make him a valuable asset. With his high basketball IQ, he has shown potential in generating turnovers and could potentially excel as a long-term defensive stopper against opposing guards.

However, being somewhat reliable offensively is crucial for earning playing time in the NBA. At this stage, James falls short in that aspect, and it will require a substantial amount of work and improvement for him to reach the level he strives for.

The Lakers organization and fans alike will closely monitor James' progress as he continues to develop and work towards his NBA aspirations. With determination and perseverance, there is hope that he will eventually overcome his shooting struggles and establish himself as a valuable contributor on both ends of the court.
