**Bronny James Shows Promise in Lakers' Preseason Finale**
Bronny James demonstrated significant improvement during the Lakers' preseason finale against the Warriors on Friday night. After struggling in his initial NBA appearances, the young player managed an impressive 17 points, shooting 7-for-17 from the field. He also contributed four rebounds, three steals, and a block over 35 minutes of play, while the team's starters rested.
"It's just a great feeling to go out there and not think as much as I do and just play," James said following his performance. He acknowledged that while he might not be in the main rotation or playing in regular-season games, this outing bolstered his confidence heading into practices and potential G League games.
James' early preseason performances were less than stellar, with only eight points on a dismal 20 percent shooting, including an 0-for-7 record from three-point range, and five turnovers across five games. However, Friday's game was a different story. James limited his turnovers to just two and successfully made his first three-pointer from the top of the key.
Lakers head coach J.J. Redick, also adapting to his new role after signing a four-year deal with the organization, viewed James' performance positively. "For him and all our younger players, all the moments are building blocks," Redick said. He emphasized the importance of learning from both good and bad experiences and expressed confidence in the development and work ethic of the team's young talents.
"So again, I think for him, I'm sure it felt good to have 17 points... I'm not even remotely concerned about that. It's not even on my radar. Like, we're trying to help him grow into a great basketball player," Redick added.
James' performance in the preseason finale provides hope for his development. As he gains more experience and confidence, his journey in the NBA is just beginning.
