**BJ's Wholesale Club Membership Fees Set to Increase for the First Time Since 2018**
BJ's Wholesale Club members should brace for higher membership fees beginning January 1, 2025. The company, headquartered in Marlborough, Massachusetts, announced a price hike for the first time in six years.
The cost of the basic membership plan will rise by $5, bringing the total to $60. Concurrently, the Club+ plan will see a $10 increase, resulting in a $120 fee. BJ's revealed that the fee adjustments are part of their strategy to enhance value for their 7.5 million members.
The membership fee uptick is not only aimed at value enhancement but also serves as a significant revenue stream for BJ's. In the previous year, membership fees contributed $115 million to the company's income, marking an 8.4% increase.
This move follows trends set by BJ's competitors. Costco raised its basic membership fee from $60 to $65 in September, marking its first increase since 2017. Sam's Club also adjusted its fees in 2022.
BJ's maintains a presence in numerous locations across Pennsylvania, including Camp Hill, Stroudsburg, Philadelphia, and Lansdale.
