In a recent Instagram video, Joey Graziadei, the star of ABC's hit dating reality series The Bachelor, revealed that he was diagnosed with Gilbert syndrome during his high school years. The 28th season lead shared this information in response to concerns from fans about his "yellow eyes."

Gilbert syndrome is a common and generally harmless liver condition that affects the processing of bilirubin by the liver. This condition leads to a yellowish tinge in the skin and eyes due to slightly elevated levels of bilirubin in the blood, as outlined by the Mayo Clinic.

In the video, Graziadei explained that during high school, he fell ill for about a week and a half. Concerned, his mother took him to the doctor, where blood work revealed a significantly high bilirubin count. This prompted further consultations with medical professionals and ultrasound examinations, which ultimately led to a diagnosis of Gilbert syndrome. However, it was determined that there was nothing specifically wrong, such as hepatitis.

Addressing his fans' worries, Graziadei reassured everyone that he is indeed healthy. He emphasized that his yellowish eyes are due to the effects of Gilbert syndrome on the whites of his eyes. Graziadei expressed his intention to prioritize his health this year, particularly by focusing on hydration and stress management. He acknowledged that stress levels can intensify, especially while participating in a television show.

The Bachelor star expressed his gratitude for the concern shown by his fans and thanked them for looking out for him. He reiterated his commitment to monitoring his health and ensuring that he remains in good condition. Graziadei concluded by stating that, to the best of his knowledge, he is healthy.

As Joey Graziadei continues his journey on The Bachelor, his openness about his Gilbert syndrome diagnosis serves as an educational moment for viewers and highlights the importance of prioritizing one's health.
