**Falcons Sideline Eight Players Ahead of Week 11 Showdown Against Broncos**

The Atlanta Falcons are facing a significant challenge as they prepare for their Week 11 game against the Denver Broncos. The team has ruled out eight players, including key defensive starters.

In the secondary, the Falcons will be without the services of Dee Alford, who is dealing with a hamstring injury, and Mike Hughes, who has a neck issue. With Alford and Hughes out, Clark Phillips III and Kevin King are expected to step up, alongside Richie Grant. Additionally, Antonio Hamilton Sr., the primary backup for Alford at nickel, has also been ruled out.

Alford has been a crucial part of Atlanta's defense, handling the primary nickel duties, while Hughes has been consistent at outside corner opposite A.J. Terrell. Their absences will test the Falcons' defensive depth and versatility.

The situation isn't much brighter for the Falcons' linebackers. Both Troy Andersen (knee) and JD Bertrand (concussion) have been declared out. This leaves Kaden Elliss and Nate Landman to continue as starters. Andersen, who recently returned from a lengthy injury stint, re-aggravated his knee injury in the loss to the Saints, adding to the Falcons' woes.

On the defensive line, James Smith-Williams (tibia) and Ta'Quon Graham (pectoral) are also out. Their absence opens the door for rookie Brandon Dorlus to potentially see his first game action. The Falcons are already thin on the line, with rookie Ruke Orhorhoro still on injured reserve due to an ankle injury.

Offensively, tight end Charlie Woerner will miss his first game of the season due to a concussion. In contrast, wide receiver Darnell Mooney is cleared to play after dealing with an Achilles strain. Despite being limited in practice on Friday, Mooney was not listed on the game report, providing a glimmer of good news for the Falcons.

Further roster moves could be imminent, as outside linebacker Lorenzo Carter and center Drew Dalman, who returned to full participation in practice, remain within their 21-day window to join the 53-man roster. Decisions regarding their activation and subsequent roster adjustments are expected by Saturday afternoon, with final inactive reports released 90 minutes before kickoff on Sunday.
