In memory of the late legendary former lead singer of Great White, Jack Russell, the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles, Illinois will be holding a tribute concert on Friday, August 23. Originally, Jack Russell's Great White was scheduled to perform alongside headliner Vixen, but due to Jack's illness, he had to back out of the show just two weeks prior. However, the concert will still go on as planned, with Jack Russell's Great White band performing under their new name, Once Bitten, featuring the powerful vocals of Terry Ilous, former Great White frontman.

The decision to continue with the show was made to honor Jack Russell's musical legacy, as he would have wanted the performance to carry on. Ron Onesti, president and CEO of Onesti Entertainment and the operator of the Arcada Theatre, expressed his belief that hosting a tribute concert is a fitting way to pay homage to Jack's incredible contributions to rock and roll.

Furthermore, the tribute concert coincides with the release of Jack Russell's autobiography, "The True Tale Of Mista Bone: A Rock + Roll Narrative". Katelyn Louise "K.L." Doty, the author and official Russell family spokesperson, will be in attendance to discuss the book and share stories about the iconic frontman. The autobiography promises to provide an intimate and heartfelt look into Jack Russell's life and career, with a foreword by Lita Ford and additional insights from notable figures in the industry.

While this event marks a somber day in the world of rock and roll, Onesti expressed gratitude towards Vixen for their participation in the tribute concert. Vixen, who shared numerous co-bills with Jack and his band, will close out the night with a performance of their greatest hits, ensuring an emotional evening for all rockers in attendance.

The loss of Jack Patrick Russell was announced by his family in a heartfelt statement on social media. Surrounded by loved ones including his wife Heather Ann Russell, son Matthew Hucko, cousin Naomi Breshears Barbor, and dear friends Billy and Cheryl Pawelcik, Jack passed away peacefully. Remembered for his sense of humor, zest for life, and unwavering contribution to rock and roll, Jack's legacy will forever thrive in the industry.

The news of Jack's passing comes shortly after he publicly announced his retirement from touring, following a diagnosis of Lewy body dementia. This neurodegenerative disease, which affects memory, decision-making, motor skills, and sleep, is often misdiagnosed as Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease. Jack's battle with his health was further compounded by the tragic incident in 2003 when a pyrotechnics display caused a nightclub fire during a Great White concert, claiming the life of guitarist Ty Longley.

Jack Russell's departure from Great White in 2011, citing injuries and addiction struggles, led to legal disputes with his former bandmates over the use of the band's name. Ultimately, a settlement was reached in 2013, allowing Jack to perform as Jack Russell's Great White while the others continued as Great White.

The tribute concert at the Arcada Theatre is an opportunity for fans and fellow musicians to come together and honor the legacy of Jack Russell. With the powerful vocals of Terry Ilous and the presence of Katelyn Louise "K.L." Doty, the event promises to be a heartfelt tribute to a rock and roll icon whose music touched the lives of many.
