According to a recent report from Bloomberg, Apple has been considering new ideas for future wearables. The tech giant has discussed the possibility of creating a smart ring and smart glasses, as well as adding tiny cameras to AirPods to bring artificial intelligence benefits. While the smart ring is not currently in active development, Apple has previously obtained patents for smart ring and glasses designs over the past decade.

Apple is also looking into advancing its popular AirPods by testing out the concept of integrating low-resolution cameras into earbuds, under a project codenamed B798. This implementation could potentially allow AI to help users track their daily activities and optimize routines.

Competition in the wearables market is heating up, as Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses, enhanced with AI features, have been performing better than expected. Apple's exploration of smart ring and glasses ideas is currently in an "exploratory phase" and a technology investigation by the company's hardware engineers.

While Apple has not yet confirmed the developments, the potential introduction of smart ring and glasses could offer consumers new and innovative ways to track health metrics and integrate technology seamlessly into their daily lives. It remains to be seen whether Apple will move forward with these wearable concepts or how they will further innovate their existing AirPods lineup.
