In a bid to put an end to the war in Ukraine, anti-Kremlin Russian fighters have issued a warning urging their fellow citizens to abandon their homes in the Belgorod and Kursk regions. The group, consisting of three different battalions known as the Freedom of Russia Legion, the Russian Volunteer Corps, and the Siberian Battalion, released a statement on Wednesday stating that they would soon launch attacks and calling for the evacuation of Russians residing in the affected areas.

The statement highlighted the alleged indiscriminate attacks on peaceful Ukrainian cities by Russian forces, who have reportedly established positions amongst residential areas, schools, and government institutions. According to the group's statement, innocent civilians, especially women and children, are losing their lives due to the shelling from Belgorod. In response, the fighters claimed that they are compelled to retaliate by targeting military positions within the cities of Belgorod and Kursk.

Previously, the pro-Ukraine Russian groups, operating independently and not under the order of the Ukrainian government, announced their determination to take matters into their own hands to combat Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Reports suggested that they had already gained control of the Kursk village of Tyotkino and had targeted multiple locations in Belgorod. Moscow, however, claimed to have successfully repelled the militant groups.

In an interview with Russian propagandist Dmitry Kiselyov, Russian President Vladimir Putin accused Ukraine of orchestrating these attacks as part of a broader strategy to achieve victories against Russia. Putin further suggested that these actions were intended to disrupt the upcoming presidential elections in Russia.

The ongoing attacks in Belgorod and Kursk have caused significant alarm among residents. On Wednesday, Governor Roman Starovoyt announced via social media that a drone attack was imminent and warned residents to stay vigilant. The village of Tyotkino, as well as various locations in Belgorod, have reportedly been under attack. Incidents included a drone striking a regional FSB Directorate building and a house in Belgorod, resulting in shattered windows upon impact. Another drone damaged a private house in the village of Grafovka before being shot down by air defense systems.

Local authorities in the affected regions have been advising residents not to approach windows and to remain cautious due to the possibility of incoming missiles. Moscow has once again placed the blame on Ukraine, labeling it as an "attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack."

In a show of force, the three pro-Kyiv Russian groups shared a video on social media, claiming to depict their militants confronting Russian forces. The authenticity and location of the video remain unclear.

As the attacks in Belgorod and Kursk continue, the situation remains tense. The actions of the anti-Kremlin Russian fighters, coupled with Putin's accusations against Ukraine, further fuel the complexity of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and its ripple effects across the region.
