In his 20th NFL season, veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers is back and feeling good as he prepares to lead the New York Jets. On Tuesday, the 40-year-old spoke about his return from last year's torn Achilles tendon and expressed his satisfaction with his progress less than four months ahead of the 2024 NFL season.

Rodgers expressed optimism about his physical condition, stating, "I feel really good." He highlighted the importance of the mental aspect of the game and emphasized the positive experience of recent practices. The quarterback described the need to feel comfortable on the field, without constantly thinking about his injury, and gauging his response the following day.

While Rodgers has shown good strength and movement in his recovery, he admitted that building confidence to execute all football activities remains the final hurdle. Echoing the sentiments of Jets head coach Robert Saleh, who stated that Rodgers has no activity restrictions, the quarterback seemed positive and upbeat about his health status, asserting, "I feel like I can do anything."

Early indications suggest that Rodgers' words are not empty hype. Jets defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich remarked on Rodgers' impressive performance in OTAs, noting that he seems to have discovered a "fountain of youth." Ulbrich also stated that Rodgers appears to be in top form, not missing a beat from before his injury last year.

Rodgers expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the Jets' offense, noting that they are ahead of where they were last year. He praised the team's acquisitions, including bolstering the offensive line and adding more weapons, contributing to the growing excitement at Florham Park.

However, Rodgers also acknowledged the pressure to perform and meet expectations in the demanding New York market. Admitting the reality of the NFL, he stated, "If I don't do what I'm capable of doing, then we're all probably gonna be out of here." Despite the pressure, Rodgers sees this as an opportunity to excel and relishes the challenge.

Regarding his motivation, Rodgers denied feeling hungrier than he did last year but conveyed that he is in a good place mentally. He expressed enjoyment in his current phase, appreciating the hard work it took to get back to this point. Rodgers also emphasized his love for the game, stating that it was a major factor in his decision to reject an unconventional job offer from presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

As the Jets gear up for the 2024 season, Rodgers expressed his commitment to focus solely on football and disregard offseason distractions. He acknowledged the speculation surrounding his off-field opportunities but made clear that once the season starts, his sole focus will be on the game and helping the team succeed.

The Jets, optimistic about their 2023 masterplan finally coming together in 2024, are grateful to have Rodgers leading their charge. As they approach what could be their last opportunity with the seasoned quarterback, the team is hopeful that his experience and skill will lead them to success.

As the new NFL season approaches, all eyes will be on Aaron Rodgers and the Jets, eager to witness how their revamped team performs under the leadership of the veteran quarterback.
