Chicago Bulls shooting guard, Zach LaVine, is reportedly seeking a trade away from the team amidst a strained relationship with head coach Billy Donovan. However, the Bulls are experiencing difficulties in finding market interest for the disgruntled player, according to a report by the Chicago Sun-Times.
Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations, Artūras Karnišovas, is eager to move LaVine sooner rather than later in order to assess the team's composition after any potential trades and determine their negotiating power for star player DeMar DeRozan.
The rumors surrounding a possible trade for LaVine have centered on the Toronto Raptors and the Los Angeles Lakers. It is reported that the two-time All-Star holds a preference for the Lakers due to his Klutch Sports relationship and his one-year stint playing for UCLA.
Currently, the Bulls hold the fourth-worst record in the Eastern Conference with a 9-16 standing. Conversely, the Lakers, winners of the NBA's in-season tournament, are in fifth place in the Western Conference, boasting a 15-10 record.
LaVine, who was initially drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2014, has spent seven of his ten years in the league with the Chicago Bulls.
The uncertainty surrounding LaVine's future with the Bulls has created a buzz among NBA fans and industry experts. As the trade deadline approaches, it remains to be seen if the Bulls can generate enough interest to facilitate a move for the talented guard.
