The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced multiple roster moves in preparation for their upcoming game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Acrisure Stadium on Saturday.

Defensive back Elijah Riley has been activated from the Reserve/Injured List, earning a spot on the 53-man roster. Riley had previously been placed on the Reserve/Injured List on November 20 due to an injury sustained in the Steelers' Week 11 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. With no injury designation for the game, Riley will be a key addition to the team's defensive unit. In the 10 games he has played this season, Riley has tallied seven tackles, including three solo stops, one sack, two tackles for a loss, and two special teams tackles.

Additionally, linebacker Kyron Johnson has been signed to the 53-man roster from the practice squad. Johnson, who was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, brings valuable experience from last season, where he played in 16 games primarily on special teams. Johnson has been elevated to the Active/Inactive roster for the Steelers' Week 13, Week 14, and Week 15 games.

Joining the active roster from the practice squad are linebacker Myles Jack and safety Eric Rowe. Jack, who had a standout season with the Steelers in 2022, recording a team-high 104 tackles, joins the team after a brief stint with the Philadelphia Eagles. Rowe, on the other hand, has played in 62 NFL games with 38 starts and has accumulated 300 tackles, including six tackles for a loss, three interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), and two sacks.

After the game against the Bengals, both Jack and Rowe will revert back to the practice squad; however, their contributions on the active roster will certainly provide depth and stability to the Steelers' defensive efforts.

In other news, the Steelers have released running back Anthony McFarland Jr. McFarland, who was drafted by the team in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, has had limited playing time this season, appearing in only three games. With his departure, the Steelers will continue to rely on their current running back roster for the remainder of the season.

As the Steelers gear up to face the Bengals, their roster moves demonstrate their commitment to strengthening their defensive capabilities and making strategic adjustments as the game progresses. Fans can expect an intense and competitive matchup between these AFC North rivals on Saturday at Acrisure Stadium.
