The head coaching search for the Seattle Seahawks continues, with the team already conducting interviews with several prominent candidates. However, one name that had been noticeably absent from the list of interviewees had fans feeling frustrated: Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald.

Due to league rules, the Seahawks were unable to interview Macdonald earlier, which left fans hoping that the team would at least show interest in the highly sought-after coach. Macdonald's exceptional work with the Ravens' defense, which shut down division rivals San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams earlier in the season, further increased the demand for his presence in Seattle.

However, according to a recent report, the Seahawks now intend to interview Macdonald for the head coaching position. The only obstacle standing in the way is the outcome of the Ravens' game against the Kansas City Chiefs. If the Ravens lose, Seattle plans to conduct a formal interview with Macdonald sometime next week.

It seems that the Seahawks are willing to wait for Macdonald, as they did when they successfully hired Shane Steichen last year. If the Ravens secure a victory against Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid's Chiefs, the Seahawks will have to wait at least a couple more weeks before the Ravens' season comes to a close and they can proceed with the interview.

Macdonald's name has been linked to the Seattle head coaching search since its early stages, and now that there is a possibility of an interview, fans will undoubtedly be eagerly anticipating the outcome of the Ravens' game against the Chiefs.

As the search for Pete Carroll's successor continues, it remains to be seen whether Macdonald will be the candidate to lead the Seahawks into a new era. The team has already engaged in discussions with other notable coaches such as Dan Quinn, Ejiro Evero, and Bobby Slowik, but the addition of Macdonald to the list signifies the team's determination to thoroughly explore their options.

For now, Seahawks fans will have to patiently wait until the conclusion of the Ravens' playoff run to potentially welcome Mike Macdonald as their next head coach.
