In an end-of-season news conference, Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead expressed his unwavering support for defensive coordinator Raheem Morris, who is currently being considered for various head coach positions across the NFL.

Morris, who has been with the Rams for the past three seasons, previously served as head coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2009 to 2011 and as an interim coach for the Atlanta Falcons in 2020. Snead acknowledged Morris' extensive experience and praised his remarkable abilities as a coach and leader.

Snead lauded Morris not only for his coaching prowess but also for his exceptional character. He described Morris as a "great human being" who shows respect and builds strong relationships with everyone in the organization. This admirable quality, according to Snead, elicits widespread respect and makes Morris an asset to any team.

Rams head coach Sean McVay shared Snead's admiration for Morris, recalling the immediate excitement and positive impact Morris had on the team when he joined as the defensive coordinator in 2021. McVay highlighted Morris' magnetism and described him as someone who is truly special.

Morris played an instrumental role in the Rams' successful season, which saw them reaching the playoffs despite parting ways with several veteran defensive players. The team traded star cornerback Jalen Ramsey to the Miami Dolphins and made other strategic moves to rely on a younger roster. Snead applauded Morris' unique football acumen, noting his ability to contribute on both the defensive and offensive sides of the game, a rarity among coaches.

Snead predicted that Morris would be able to assemble an exceptional coaching staff, as his collaborative nature and reputation would attract top-level coaches to work with him. The Rams GM even joked that there may be tampering charges, as numerous players from around the league would eagerly express their desire to play under Morris.

While discussing Morris' candidacy for a head coaching position, McVay emphasized his phenomenal leadership skills. McVay applauded Morris' positive energy, his consistent presence, and his ability to demand the best from his team. According to McVay, Morris possesses a deep passion for the game and an incredible capacity to teach in an easily understandable manner.

If Morris is hired by another team, the Rams would receive a third-round compensatory pick for two years as part of the Rooney Rule. This serves as testament to Morris' value and the recognition of his capabilities throughout the league.

As Morris continues to interview for head coaching opportunities with teams such as the Carolina Panthers, Washington Commanders, Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Chargers, and Falcons, his reputation as an outstanding candidate has been solidified. Rams GM Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay stand firmly behind him, confident that Morris would make an exceptional head coach and lead any organization to success.
