In a blow to the Las Vegas Raiders' offense, running back Josh Jacobs has been officially ruled out for their upcoming game against the Los Angeles Chargers. The decision comes as Jacobs continues to battle a nagging quad injury, according to a report from NFL Media.

Jacobs' absence in Week 15 was confirmed after he appeared as a non-participant on all three injury reports leading up to the game. The star running back's presence on the field will be sorely missed, as he has been a key contributor for the Raiders this season.

So far, Jacobs has amassed an impressive 805 rushing yards and six touchdowns in 13 games. Additionally, he has showcased his versatility by hauling in 37 receptions for 296 yards. Notably, he currently leads the league with 233 carries, illustrating his importance to the Raiders' ground game.

This marks the first game that Jacobs will be forced to sit out since 2021, and the Raiders will need to find a suitable replacement to fill his shoes. Zamir White is expected to step up and start at running back. Although he has had limited playing time, White has managed to accumulate 54 rushing yards and 38 receiving yards in the 2023 season.

The Raiders are facing additional injury concerns in the offensive line, with left tackle Kolton Miller (shoulder) and center Andre James (ankle) already ruled out for the game. However, there is some positive news, as defensive end Maxx Crosby (knee), despite being listed as questionable, is expected to play.

To bolster their depth for the crucial matchup, Las Vegas has made some moves. Center Hroniss Grass and fullback Jakob Johnson have been elevated from the practice squad to join the team on Thursday.

As the Raiders gear up to face off against the Chargers, their offensive strategies will need to account for the absence of their star running back. Without the formidable presence of Josh Jacobs on the field, it remains to be seen how the Raiders' offense will adapt and overcome the challenge posed by the Chargers' defense.
