In a thrilling showdown for the Old Oaken Bucket, the Purdue Boilermakers pulled off a remarkable win against the Indiana Hoosiers with a final score of 35-31. Purdue's defense came up clutch on a crucial 4th and 1 play, stopping the Hoosiers from converting a pass play and securing the victory.

The game marked a historic milestone, as the triumph became the 300th victory in the illustrious history of Ross Ade Stadium. Purdue's offense flourished in the second half, particularly in the fourth quarter where they notched 17 pivotal points to seize the win.

Quarterback Hudson Card led the charge for the Boilermakers, showcasing his skill and versatility. Card completed 21 of 34 pass attempts for an impressive 275 yards and three touchdowns. Not only that, but he also carried the ball for 85 yards, emerging as the team's leading rusher.

The young tight ends for Purdue stepped up in a big way during the game. Burhenn, who entered the game without a reception, snagged five passes for 74 yards and contributed a touchdown. Additionally, the return of Drew Biber from injury proved crucial, as he caught a touchdown pass for 16 yards. Wide receiver Deion Burks also had a standout performance, tallying seven receptions for 87 yards. However, his 44-yard reception along the left side of the field during Purdue's final possession proved to be the decisive play of the season.

On defense, freshman standout Dillion Thieneman solidified his potential All-B1G season and Freshman All-American status. Thieneman's exceptional performance included eight solo tackles, a tackle for loss, and two key interceptions. In doing so, he set the freshman record for interceptions and tackles, and started in all 13 games for the Boilermakers. Meanwhile, Nic Scourton continued to make his presence felt with two sacks and two tackles for loss. Scourton finished the season with a stellar 10 sacks, the highest total since Ryan Kerrigan recorded 12.5 in 2010.

With the season finale victory, the Boilermakers head into the offseason with a surge of momentum, having won two out of their final three games. However, the team is expected to undergo significant changes as talented freshmen enter the roster and a substantial number of transfers are anticipated in Ryan Walters' second year as head coach.

The Old Oaken Bucket win will undoubtedly serve as a source of inspiration and motivation for the Boilermakers, as they aim to build upon their successes and strive for greater achievements in the coming seasons.
