In an effort to provide a balanced schedule for the Oregon football team and sustain their long-standing rivalry with Oregon State, important adjustments have been made to the upcoming 2024 and 2025 seasons. These changes ensure that the Ducks will have seven home games in each season while maintaining the annual matchup with their in-state rivals.

The decision to modify the schedules was prompted by Oregon's move to the Big Ten Conference in 2024. Initially, the Ducks were set to play an eight-game home slate in the following year, including games against Hawai'i, Idaho, Boise State, and Texas Tech. However, through discussions with future opponents, Oregon has managed to secure seven home games in both the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

One of the most significant alterations is the home-and-home series with Oregon State, a rivalry that dates back to 1894 and is the fifth-most-played in college football history. This exciting series will take place in 2024 and 2025, further fueling the passion of fans across the state. Currently, Oregon leads the overall series with 68 wins compared to Oregon State's 49.

To accommodate these changes, the 2024 home opener against Idaho will remain on August 31. However, instead of hosting Texas Tech and Boise State in subsequent weeks, the Ducks will face the Broncos on September 7 before heading to Oregon State on September 14. In 2025, Oregon will skip the away game against Boise State on September 13 and host Oregon State on September 20 instead.

Furthermore, the adjustments have allowed Oregon to maintain consistency in its scheduling and support key stakeholders such as season-ticket holders and the athletic department. With over 2,000 new season ticket requests already received for 2024, the aim is to provide predictability in pricing, generate revenue, and ensure competitive balance for the football team.

Looking ahead, the 2024 home schedule will feature exciting Big Ten matchups against Washington, Ohio State, Michigan State, Illinois, and Maryland. Additionally, nonconference games will be played against Idaho and Boise State. In 2025, Autzen Stadium will welcome conference rivals USC, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Indiana, along with nonconference opponents Oregon State, Oklahoma State, and Montana State.

As part of the necessary adjustments, the previously scheduled game against Texas Tech in 2024 has been postponed to 2033. Texas Tech will instead face Washington State next season, while Oregon continues to strengthen its football program in the Big Ten Conference.

The revised schedules promise an exciting future for Oregon football, allowing fans to enjoy the beloved rivalry with Oregon State while ensuring a fair and balanced season for the Ducks.
