In a bid to consolidate his properties after his transition to the San Francisco 49ers, NFL running back Christian McCaffrey is selling his luxurious French château-inspired estate nestled along the scenic shores of Lake Norman. The sprawling property, situated on approximately 9 acres, is listed for an asking price of $12.5 million, according to sources.

The gated estate, which was built in 2019, offers breathtaking views of the picturesque lake. Boasting an impressive 500 feet of lake frontage, the property features two gyms, providing ample space for McCaffrey's rigorous training regimen.

Having made the difficult decision to part with the Lake Norman estate, McCaffrey expressed his emotional attachment to the property in an email to the Wall Street Journal. He explained that due to his new team and his limited time in North Carolina, selling the house was a necessary step.

McCaffrey's connection with the Lake Norman estate began in 2020 when he acquired the property for $7.5 million, setting a sales record for the Charlotte metro area at the time. While this record was surpassed in 2023, McCaffrey's current sale has the potential to reclaim its title if it fetches the asking price.

The former Panthers player reminisces about his favorite features of the estate, including a basement gym in the main house and a second gym in the converted three-car garage of the guesthouse. He also cherishes the memories of movie nights in the estate's movie theater, highlighting how they were always some of the best nights at the house.

A paved pathway leads to a dock on the lake, where McCaffrey's boat, named Olivia after his fiancée, former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo, is docked. McCaffrey recounts the joy in coming home after a day out on the water to enjoy family and friends, grill food, and indulge in swimming, roasting s'mores, and playing lawn games.

While McCaffrey bids farewell to his North Carolina properties, his focus is now on his journey with the San Francisco 49ers. He recently impressed with two touchdowns against the Green Bay Packers, securing his team a spot in the upcoming NFC Championship Game against the Detroit Lions. If successful, McCaffrey could be on his way to clinching his first Super Bowl title with the 49ers.
