Nebraska softball player Jordy Bahl, known for her exceptional pitching skills, announced on social media that she will miss the remainder of the season due to a knee injury. Bahl revealed on Instagram that the injury occurred during the first game of the opening weekend in Puerto Vallarta.
Bahl expressed her disappointment in not being able to contribute to the team as anticipated for the 2024 season. She stated that she will be redshirting this year and plans to return to the Huskers in 2025. Bahl expressed gratitude for the support she has received from her family, friends, coaches, and staff.
Nebraska University (NU) announced that Bahl will apply for a medical hardship and is expected to have two seasons of eligibility remaining. The university assured that Bahl is in excellent care with the medical team and expressed confidence in her full recovery.
Rhonda Revelle, the coach of the Nebraska softball team, expressed her disappointment upon hearing the news of Bahl's season-ending knee injury. However, she also conveyed her confidence in Bahl's recovery and praised the medical team taking care of the star pitcher.
During the game against Washington, Bahl unfortunately suffered the injury after landing awkwardly following a pitch. The Papillion-La Vista graduate joined Nebraska after two seasons with the Sooners and quickly made a name for herself as a standout pitcher.
Bahl's absence will undoubtedly be felt by the Huskers, as she has been a key player for the team. However, the team will have to adjust their strategy and rely on the strength of their other players to continue their season without her.
The Nebraska softball community wishes Jordy Bahl a speedy recovery and eagerly awaits her return to the field in the 2025 season.
