MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) - Miami Dolphins star receiver Tyreek Hill and his family are reported safe after a fire broke out at their Southwest Ranches home in South Florida on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred while Hill was at Dolphins practice ahead of their final regular-season game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night.

When news of the fire reached Hill, he left practice immediately to attend to the situation. Hill's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, confirmed that some family members were present at the time of the fire but thankfully, no injuries were reported, including the safety of their pets.

Expressing gratitude, Rosenhaus praised the efforts of the firefighters who swiftly responded to the scene and successfully contained the fire to a limited area within the home. Although there will be smoke and water damage, Rosenhaus reassured that the situation is being handled with poise by Hill and his family.

Hill, who recently tied the knot with his wife Keeta Vaccaro, was seen arriving at the property on crutches with a walking boot on his left foot. Images captured Hill embracing his wife as they processed the emotional event together. Throughout his interaction with authorities, Hill appeared visibly distraught with his hand on his chest and face.

The upscale seven-bedroom, eight-bathroom property, purchased by Hill for $6.9 million in May 2022, boasts luxurious amenities like a home theatre, den, putting green, NBA-sized basketball court, heated salt-water filtration pool, spa for 10 people, and two guest houses. The house is also adorned with lemon, mango, and banana trees.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, with reports indicating that it appears to have originated in one room. Firefighters were seen diligently working on the highest parts of the structure, focusing their efforts on preventing further damage.

In the wake of the incident, Hill's teammates, including Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, expressed their concern and support. Tagovailoa emphasized that while material possessions can be replaced, the safety and well-being of Hill's family are paramount.

Hill, 29, is having a stellar season on the field, leading the NFL with 1,717 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. He will be hoping to put aside the distressing events surrounding his home as he prepares for the Dolphins' crucial matchup against the Buffalo Bills.
